Savour more fresh local produce at the providores, cheese makers and farmers markets in the region. Browse the local delights at the Lovedale Smokehouse Gourmet Pantry in Lovedale and taste delicious cheeses at Binnorie Dairy and the Hunter Valley Cheese Company in Pokolbin.

In Muswellbrook is Hunter Belle Cheese, where handmade cheeses and elegant local wines make an enticing combination. Nearby, on the road to Denman’s cellar doors, is olive oil producer Pukara Estate. In the estate’s tasting room try and buy olive oils, balsamic vinegars and other condiments.

Getting there 

Perfect for a midweek or weekend escape, getting to the vineyards and wineries of Australia’s oldest wine region is easy. Only two hours’ drive north of Sydney and 50 minutes west of Newcastle Airport, trains also depart from Sydney for Maitland and Singleton via Newcastle.
