Flare Run and Fireworks, Thredbo
Night Skiing & Snowboarding
Night Skiing & Snowboarding
Lights, flare runs and fireworks. Skiing and snowboarding under the stars is a magical experience, which also allows skiers and snowboarders to make the most of their time on the slopes.
Lights on at Perisher
Enjoy an unforgettable experience at Perisher, which has night skiing at both Perisher Valley and Smiggin Holes from late June to mid-September. Neon Night Skiing and fireworks bring the valley to life on selected nights in Front Valley around the Village Eight Express. Wear your brightest neon gear to brighten the night even more.
Smiggin Holes also offers free night skiing and boarding for kids every week. Rug up your budding snow bunnies and they’ll have a ball night skiing around Zoe’s Carpet.
Thredbo flares up
Thredbo is famous for its Saturday night fireworks, as well as the famous flare run led by a team of expert skiers and snowboarders who light up the Supertrail with flares every Saturday night. The fireworks show is magnificent against the glow of the snow and stars overhead. It’s the perfect way to kick off a Saturday night with family and friends.
Kids have their own show to participate in every Thursday. As the sun sets, kids and snow sports instructors hop on the Easy Does It Chairlift and then snake down the slope with special flashing LED flares. Once everyone is at the bottom, fireworks light up the sky in a riot of colour.
Charlotte Pass shines
During the snow season, Charlotte Pass offers night skiing on the Basin Poma every Wednesday and Saturday night. It is free with a valid lift pass. There is more fun to be had with the weekly flare run. You’ll also find plenty of seasonal entertainment, food and wine in the grand old Kosciuszko Chalet Hotel.
