Oyster & seafood heaven

To taste the famous Clyde River oysters, head for Starfish Deli on the promenade overlooking the Clyde River in Batemans Bay. Across from the riverfront, Stingrays Ocean and Grill serve oysters natural, with garlic and chilli, 0r kilpatrick. At JJ's at the Marina every table has uninterrupted water views to enjoy oysters (four ways), as well as local fish and gourmet burgers.

Tuross Boatshed & Cafe fry up awesome fish and chips – delicious with glistening Lake Tuross on the side. In the seaside haven of Narooma head to Quarterdeck in the old boatshed at Forsters Bay for local Sydney rock oysters. Another top eatery is The Whale restaurant with views of Wagonga Inlet, and a menu of local Wagonga oysters and Aussie favourites like steak, fish and mussel pie, and roast lamb shoulder.

Sam’s Pizzeria on the Waterfront in Batemans Bay serve authentic Italian food with sweeping views of the Clyde River. Twenty minutes south, on the sparkling shores of Tuross Lake, the Pickled Octopus specialises in authentic Thai food showcasing local seafood – their oysters topped with soy, ginger, lime, caviar and parsley are not to be missed! And everybody loves Raymond (even Jackie Chan!), the long running chef at Raymond's at Malua Bay who has been cooking delicious Chinese food for more than 30 years. The restaurant now has a new home inside the waterfront Abode Hotel.
