Tuross Head

Down by the water

Halfway between Moruya and Narooma in the Eurobodalla region of the NSW South Coast, Tuross Head has the dream location. This little community is on a headland between two tidal lakes – Tuross Lake to the south and Coila Lake to the north – making for plenty of activities in and around the water.

Things to do

A lovely way to experience the beauty of the lakes and ocean is to cycle the Tuross Head Foreshore Ride. It is a shared off-road pathway with stunning views. One Tree Point lookout is a good place for a picnic and to spot migrating whales between May and November and dolphins are regular visitors to the area. Give the legs a rest with a stroll through the Memorial Gardens at Plantation Point.

Eat, drink & stay

With two lakes and the ocean seafood is plentiful so fishing is popular, as is boating. Tuck into seafood and good coffee at Tuross Boatshed, which has a lovely deck looking over the water. The Pickled Octopus Seafood Cafe also offers great waterfront dining serving delicious Thai fare and stop off for a drink in the beer garden at the One Tree Inn.

Places to stay include holiday cottages, a motel, and waterside holiday and tourist parks.
