The Savoy cinema opened in 1956, closed in 1976 and was a mixed use site on the ground floor while the mezzanine and projection room was abandoned for 40 years until it was transformed into this buzzing restaurant and bar.
The menu spans casual Italian favourites such as Napoli pizza, cheese boards charcuterie platters. Drinks include craft beer on tap, a wine list which skews towards natural and low-sulfur drops plus creative cocktails.
In keeping with its heritage, community entertainment is important. Wednesday is movie night, Thursday nights sees live acoustic bands and solo artists perform, there are DJs on the weekend and the space is also used for art installations.
