Overview
Southern Cross Kayaking offer guided kayak tours in the Sydney basin and the stunning Wollemi National Park, part of the greater Blue Mountains World Heritage listed landscape.
Experience the wonders of Ganguddy-Dunns Swamp from a stable kayak on the pristine waters of the Cudgegong River. Marvel in awe at the fascinating landscape as you wind through striking rock formations, stunning sandstone gorges and picturesque woodlands, while absorbing interesting commentary on the fascinating natural and cultural history of the area and its environmental significance. From the long history of habitation of the Wiradjuri people, to the first European settlement, the notorious 'lady bushranger' and the incredible tale of the building of the weir that formed the waterway as it exists today, there are stories of interest for everyone.
Operating daily during school holidays and on weekends from September to April, guided tours depart every morning during the season and Twilight Tours depart on Friday evenings during daylight savings. Tours run for two hours and are suitable for ages 12 years and over.
Kayaks and stand up paddle boards are also available for hire daily.
No experience is necessary; all tours and hire include equipment, safety briefing, paddle instruction, map and information on the area. The calm, protected environment makes conditions suitable for novice and experienced paddlers.
