It’s all about rum and reggae at Mumbo Jumbo’s, a Caribbean-influenced bar in Terrigal. The corner site right in the heart of the action spans indoor and outdoor space, with open-plan areas including a rooftop bar for groups and more intimate nooks for couples, split across one-and-a-half levels so there’s something for everyone.
The brainchild of four locals who met through the music industry, this is the kind of place they wish they had growing up. The casual, pan-Caribbean menu includes jerk-spiced baby snapper and spiced-rum oysters while Jamaican beer Red Stripe is on the menu and there’s a healthy selection of rums to choose from.
Music is a big part of the bar, with live events scheduled regularly and a Sunday DJ spinning reggae funk tunes. Bob Marley would feel right at home here. Mumbo Jumbo’s has also been used as a community venue to host art shows, market stalls and tasting events for local producers.
