Frida's Field
Overview
Just 10 minutes from Bangalow in the Byron Bay Hinterland, Frida’s Field is an on-farm restaurant offering contemporary country dining. Their food celebrates the seasons and their ecological farming practices.
They are a family of food-lovers; dedicated to showing that food can be grown in a way that not only tastes amazing, but actively reverses climate change. By integrating trees into agriculture and managing their Angus-Wagyu cattle with holistic principles, they’re sequestering carbon from the atmosphere, building soil health, and fostering biodiversity. By coming onto their farm to enjoy one of their bountiful long-lunches, you’ll be supporting them to keep expanding their ecological farming system and its integration with their farm kitchen.
The kitchen is led by Chef Alastair Waddell - a three-time winner of The Australian Good Food Guide’s one hat award. Ally hails from Scotland where he received top notch classical training at the famous culinary institutions - One Devonshire Gardens and Cameron House. A Byron Bay resident since 2017, Ally has forged strong connections with many local growers and producers who help him deliver delicious, produce-driven cuisine.
