Contentious Character Vineyard, Winery, Cellar-door and Kitchen
Overview
Contentious Character is a contemporary estate with a winery, cellar door, and restaurant tucked away in the hills of Wamboin, 15 minutes from Canberra airport. Whether you come to them or their wines come to you, they’ll give you plenty to talk about!
As a boutique vineyard and producer, wines span across their Founders Museum Collection to more recent vintages with younger, fresher twists.
Their restaurant serves seasonal, locally-sourced, prepared food (and beautiful countryside views).
The menu is a blend of Japanese and Australian cuisine designed to complement our cool-climate wines perfectly.
Whether you’re visiting from Canberra and surrounds or passing through on a road trip, they’ll be sure to ruffle your feathers! Open Thursday-Monday from 11 am. Book your visit via the website.
Varieties: Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Verdelho, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz.
