Callala Bay

A corner of calm

Fringed by powder white sand and tranquil blue water, Callala Bay is an ocean lover’s delight. Tucked into the northern end of Jervis Bay on the NSW South Coast, this relaxed coastal village offers calm swimming, snorkelling, fishing, boating and kayaking, as well as bushwalking and dolphin parades.

Things to do

With a boat ramp and jetty, Callala Bay is a great base to explore the crystal clear waters of Jervis Bay. You can learn to sail with Jervis Bay Sailing Club. This scenic spot is also on the doorstep of Jervis Bay National Park, where you can follow the Hare Point walking track through sand forest and dunes to a pretty inlet.

Explore nearby villages

Just south of Callala Bay is gorgeous Callala Beach, the longest beach in Jervis Bay, and backed by a reserve with barbecues and picnic tables. At Club Callala enjoy a bite to eat and a round of golf on the 18-hole course where kangaroos roam. A courtesy bus operates around the local area seven days a week.

Nearby is the village of Myola, located on the banks of Currambene Creek, a popular fishing spot. You can rent a boat from Husky Hire-A-Boat at Woollamia Boat Ramp and explore the pretty waterway. Or take the Husky Ferry from Myola to Huskisson, where dolphin and whale-watching cruises depart.

Part of the Shoalhaven region on the NSW South Coast, Callala Bay is a 2h 45min drive from Sydney or a 2h 35min drive from Canberra.
