Things to do

Soak up the area’s natural beauty by swimming in the tranquil Termeil Lake, enjoying a beach picnic at Racecourse Beach or riding the iconic surf break Guillotines. You can learn about the area’s heritage at the Murramarang Aboriginal Area, a reserve that protects a large midden and other indigenous artefacts. 

A bounty of beaches

To the north, Termeil Beach is a secluded spot in the Meroo National Park, where the Meroo Head lookout walking track offers panoramic coastal views. To the south, a string of pristine beaches can be found in Murramarang National Park. The short Pretty Beach to Snapper Point walking track is another great bushwalk.

Then there’s Pebbly Beach, famous for its resident eastern grey kangaroos. Stop here for a picnic lunch. At nearby Depot Beach, enjoy the Rock Platform walk at low tide and stroll through a towering rainforest on the Depot Beach Rainforest walk. Then spend the night in nature at the beachside campground.

Berry picking & wine tasting 

Enjoy wine tasting at Bawley Vale Estate, a short journey from Bawley Point. Part of the Shoalhaven Coast wine region, the cellar door is open on Sundays. A 30min drive west is Clyde River Berry Farm, where you can pick your own berries during summer, and buy farm-made jams and local bush honey.

Getting there

Bawley Point, and the nearby villages of Kioloa and Termeil, are a 3.5-hour drive from Sydney and 2.5-hour drive from Canberra. They sit halfway between Ulladulla and Batemans Bay in the Shoalhaven region on the NSW South Coast.
