Antica Australis
Overview
Award-winning regional Italian slow food locanda in the charming historic village of Carcoar. Bringing a little of the soul of Italy to the heart of rural Australia. Serving up food + stories. Hosted by Paolo and Kelly Picarazzi.
Antica is not an Italian restaurant as you may know it. Featuring traditional cuisine from Paolo's 'hidden' home region of Ciociaria in central Italy using ancient recipes and local produce sourced directly from artisanal producers in the Orange region.
Antica is a 'locanda' - a casual dining establishment to be enjoyed by everyone. It's a very traditional regional Italian concept of an inn, designed to provide meals for travellers looking to rest and revive their spirits.
This is the authentic taste of an Italian village on top of a mountain without going to Italy. Instead, you get to pause, rest and restore in one of Australia’s most gorgeous and perfectly-preserved 19th-century villages – Carcoar on the Belubula River.
Seasonal four course set menu. Antica is BYO. They are now allowed up to 24 guests at a time. Early bookings by email are essential. Prepayment is required to confirm your booking. They are a COVID-safe registered business.
