Adventure in Eurobodalla
Bring all your holiday toys for action-packed adventures in Eurobodalla, known as the land of many waters. You can float above the crystal-clear waters in a kayak, dive below with fur seals, cycle the foreshores on a bike, fish waterways teeming with marine life, bushwalk in untouched wilderness or watch magnificent whales breach and play on their annual migration. From Batemans Bay to Narooma, the Eurobodalla region has adventure covered – top to bottom.
Float your boat
Kayaking is a magical way to explore Batemans Marine Park, as well as other waterways like the Moruya River and Tuross Lake. Join Bay and Beyond Sea Kayak Tours for a guided kayaking tour or hire a kayak and head out on your own. Region X offers tours in glass-bottom kayaks or, for something different, join them for a Pizza Paddle Tour or Oyster Tasting tour.
At Mossy Point, north of Broulee, you can hire kayaks and stand-up paddleboards to float over smooth-spotted stingrays who live in the Tomaga River. In Narooma, hire kayaks from Narooma Marina and explore Wagonga Inlet. You’ll take in views of the town, paddle past old forest growth along the shoreline, see a historic cemetery and cruise by expanses of oyster leases.
Get down under
Batemans Marine Park is an intriguing underwater world that stretches along the Eurobodalla coast, with reefs, caves and sheltered waters making it a stunning spot for diving and snorkelling. Batemans Bay Dive Adventures will kit you up and get you underwater. For a truly extraordinary experience cruise to Montague Island, off the coast of Narooma, to dive and snorkel with Australian fur seals and NSW’s biggest colony of little penguins.
A bird’s eye view
Get high on a thrilling flight with South Coast Seaplanes to see the region from a different point of view. You’ll take off and land on the water at Moruya or Narooma for a flight to cruise the coastline, soar over offshore islands and across national parks. You can jump out of a plane if you want to with Skydive Oz who operate tandem jump tours from Moruya Airport.
On your bike
You can explore the beautiful Eurobodalla coastline by bike, with more than 400km of scenic cycling routes for both on-road and off-road riding. Begin your cycling adventure on the easy Batemans Bay Cycleway, a lovely 18km return journey. There are many worthwhile stops along the way, including places with picnic tables and barbecue facilities. Other great bike adventures include:
- Mogo State Forest for mountain bike trails
- North Head to Mossy Point Cycleway for coastal vistas
- Moruya Cycleway for riverside delights
- Tuross Head Foreshore Ride for family fun
- Narooma to Dalmeny for marine life
- Mystery Bay Velodrome for cycling heritage
Go wild
Native animals await at Birdland Animal Park in Batemans Bay, where you can meet owls, emus and koalas. Mogo Wildlife Park has the largest collection of endangered and exotic animal species in Australia. You can feed a tiger, lion or red panda, pat a rhino and play with the meerkats and squirrel monkeys. It really is wild fun!
